When she agreed to let her daughter hold her 16th birthday bash at their villa in Marbella, Amanda Hudson knew it might be a lively affair.
But the last thing the estate agent expected was for 400 revellers, many of them gatecrashers, to turn up at her £4.4million home for the party from hell.
Teenagers arrived from all over the Costa del Sol. And despite Mrs Hudson being present throughout, the end result was £6,000 of missing jewellery, dozens of items thrown in the swimming pool and half her wardrobe stolen.
Her daughter Jodie, a pupil at a private school, had made the increasingly common mistake of announcing the party on her pages on the social networking sites Bebo and Facebook.
Calling it 'party of the year', she gave her address and wrote: 'Theres gone be a lot of alcohol and an amazing DJ.'
To make matters worse, word went around that the owners didn't mind the seven-bedroom mansion being trashed because they were 'getting divorced'.
As the festivities ran out of control, police were called and searched anyone leaving the house for valuables.
